About Us

The San Antonio Pathfinders Volkssport Club, AVA-088, is the San Antonio chapter of the American Volkssport Association (AVA), America’s walking club. We promote the AVA values of fun, fitness, and friendship through noncompetitive walking. Walking events are available both as set dates and times (traditional events/walks) when we all walk together, and self-initiated walks to explore on your own schedule (year-round events/walks).

We host in-person Wednesday walks most Wednesday mornings from Sept-May, and in-person Saturday morning events intermittently throughout the year. The AVA hosts a monthly traditional walk starting at the AVA headquarters in Southtown during San Antonio’s First Friday event. An annual highlight is supporting the Texas Trail Roundup, a 3-day walking event each February certified by the International Marching League featuring participants from around the world and a team competition among worldwide military units.
