What is a YRE?

Year-Round Events, or YREs, are available for you to enjoy nearly any day or time, and are a great way to see some of the most beautiful and historic parts of our area.

Need a suggestion?

First time in San Antonio? Riverwalk South features the top tourist and historic attractions of downtown San Antonio including the Alamo, Hemisfair Park, and the Riverwalk

— Love beautiful neighborhoods? Maury Maverick Jr Library and the Broadway Neighborhood loop through Alamo Heights include some of the city’s finest.

— Want big distance? Salado Creek Greenway includes multiple loops which total up to 25K. Alternately, park at Mission San Jose and combine San Jose-Concepcion with either San Jose-San Juan or Concepcion-Mission Reach to reach your mileage goals.

— Looking for shade and wide, paved trails? Salado Creek 1604 and Leon Creek Greenway Mainland may be some of your best choices

— Want AVA credit while also completing the Camino de San Antonio Missions? There’s plenty of overlap with the Riverwalk South, Mission Concepcion and Mission Reach, Mission San Juan to Mission Concepcion, Mission San Jose to San Juan, and Mission San Juan to Mission Espada walks.

— San Antonio weather not cooperating? North Star mall is all-indoors and has restrooms and a food court.

Tips:

— PSB means the walk has a physical start box. Go to the indicated address (we’ll try to keep the listed hours up to date) when the PSB location is open and ask for the AVA walk box. Most locations will know what you mean. If someone doesn’t know, ask (nicely) to speak with their manager, who will know. Our PSB partners are wonderful.

— OSB means the walk has an online start box – access from your phone or computer. See our How-To page for detailed instructions on how to use an OSB. How-To-Use-Online-Start-Box-phone

— Check out the description – some Start Boxes or routes have limited hours.

Register for any walk you choose. Walkers must be registered to participate. No free walkers.

Check out our 2026 YREs.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Many of our events have both a PSB and an OSB. Register on OSB   OR   use PSB.

PLEASE choose only one method of registration. We get confused; you get confused. Do not mix and match between OSB and PSB to complete the event.
